Cineworld Birmingham - NEC

The IMAX screen is genuinely amazing. I saw project hail mary, it looked and sounded incredible. The chairs need modernising but they were perfectly comfortable, its just that a few were a little damaged, and the chairs are a little on the smaller size compared to other options. I dont want to take away from how jaw dropping the IMAX was though. Id come back again.

We booked IMAX tickets for Super Mario Galaxy at 12pm on our way back from Alton Towers to London, but unfortunately we arrived late at around 1:30pm. The customer service was absolutely fantastic. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the manager (a young man, unfortunately I didn’t catch his name) went above and beyond to help us. He kindly swapped our tickets for a later showing and even refunded the price difference, which was incredibly thoughtful. Thanks to their help, my kids were still able to enjoy the cinema experience. The seats were very comfortable, and everything felt well organised. There’s also a machine inside the corridor to validate your parking ticket, so parking only cost us £2, which is great. The popcorn was tasty and reasonably priced, and the staff offered us a great deal – we got two Mario-themed square boxes with sweet popcorn and drinks for £29. Overall, a really great experience with genuinely helpful and friendly staff. Highly recommend!

I recently visited the IMAX screen at Cineworld Birmingham - Resorts World and was really disappointed with the seating. I paid over £20 for a ticket, expecting a premium experience. Instead, the chairs were hard and stiff with very little cushioning. There was no proper back support and no give in the seat. I left with lower back pain. During the film, I kept adjusting my position because I was so uncomfortable. It completely distracted me from key scenes. That should never happen in an IMAX screening. For comparison, I’ve had much more comfortable seating at Vue Birmingham - Star City, and that wasn’t even marketed as a premium format. At £20+ per ticket, better comfort should be the minimum standard. The seating seriously affected the overall experience. I’m sure you can afford to upgrade the seats with those prices I hope this is reviewed and improved asap

Expensive. Freezing cinema! Sat there throughout the film frozen. Friend tried her best to grab a black table cloth to throw over me. Was taking back after film finished as leaving the screen a snotty rude assistant was waiting! We explained what happened but she lectured us and accused of stealing! lIt was a black cheap cloth!!!! Vile!!! Avoid at all costs! Mind you paid £55! for 2 tickets and popcorn yet they can’t afford to put a bit of heating on!!!! AVOID THIS CHEAP AND OVERPRICED PLACE, and if you do go take a blanket!
