East Dunster Deer Farm - The Linhay

Photo: Kelly Bevan (SillyVinnyVideos)

The Linhay sits within a quiet corner of mid-Devon countryside, surrounded by 40 acres of working deer farm, woodland and open ground that guests can explore. The property is a converted barn sleeping 12 across six bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. A kitchen and dining room with large windows frame views across the valley; a ground-floor living room has a woodburner and Freeview TV. The enclosed garden includes a firepit, barbecue and private hot tub. One well-behaved dog can stay, provided it remains on a lead.

All essentials are covered: electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are included. The kitchen is equipped for full self-catering. Ramp access makes the ground floor accessible, and there is space to park six cars. Initial logs for both the woodburner and firepit come with the booking. Families with young children will find a travel cot, highchair and stair gate on hand.

This works for large family gatherings, friend groups or celebrations. The farm's ponds attract wildlife, and fishing is available on-site. No smoking throughout the property. The check-in time is after 4pm and checkout before 10am.

We’ve recently had a lovely stay in Deer Park, one of the 4 accommodations you can book. The accommodation was lovely. It’s really well fitted out with everything you need. The location is amazing and very tranquil. The best recommendation I can give is that we’re planning to go back again

We stayed here w/c 18/7/25 lovely place in the middle of nowhere - great place if you want to walk and chill out - when I was shown the fussy list of terms and conditions for getting your £300 deposit back I was very sceptical if anyone would ever get it all back and lol and behold we were charged £220 for dog scratches on a door and various other stuff which were acceptable - we traveled on to Cornwall the week after and this put a downer on the whole holiday - beware - was also not particularly clean

We stayed in the b &b and it perfectly suited our needs. We were glamping the night before and had to leave due to a storm hitting the tent. I'm so glad we found this B &B. It was peaceful, tranquil and Beverley was very accommodating. The room layout was perfect as there was an adjoining bathroom that led onto the kids twin room. My eldest son is autistic and can find noise and new surroundings very difficult. This b & b was perfect for him as it was incredibly quiet, in a homely setting and he absolutely loved it here. The continental breakfast was lovely and the home made jams were out of this world. If we are visiting the area again we will definitely be back.

Beautiful place for a holiday! Highly recommend as a holiday location with a group - super sociable. My only recommendations would be if they provided bin bags etc to save bringing them, bigger cups for tea and nicer cutlery.
