East Dunster Deer Farm - The Otters
Mid Devon
View on Google MapsA converted barn on a working deer farm near Tiverton, The Otters is a substantial property designed for groups who want the whole place to themselves. Eight bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, are spread across two floors—four downstairs, four up. Four have king beds, the other four have twin beds. The ground floor opens into a shared living and dining space with a kitchen equipped for proper cooking, plus a utility room and a hot tub in the garden.
The property sits within 40 acres of farmland on the owner's working deer farm, accessed by an unmade track. You have parking for eight cars and an enclosed lawn with outdoor seating. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included; the heating is oil-fired and runs underfloor. A welcome pack arrives with you, and travel cots, high chairs and stair gates are available if needed. One dog is welcome, to be kept on a lead. There is an unfenced pond 50 yards away in the grounds, a working farm, so supervision of children matters. No smoking inside.
This works for extended family gatherings, celebrations with friends, or large groups looking for a self-contained base in Mid Devon.

We’ve recently had a lovely stay in Deer Park, one of the 4 accommodations you can book. The accommodation was lovely. It’s really well fitted out with everything you need. The location is amazing and very tranquil. The best recommendation I can give is that we’re planning to go back again

We stayed here w/c 18/7/25 lovely place in the middle of nowhere - great place if you want to walk and chill out - when I was shown the fussy list of terms and conditions for getting your £300 deposit back I was very sceptical if anyone would ever get it all back and lol and behold we were charged £220 for dog scratches on a door and various other stuff which were acceptable - we traveled on to Cornwall the week after and this put a downer on the whole holiday - beware - was also not particularly clean

We stayed in the b &b and it perfectly suited our needs. We were glamping the night before and had to leave due to a storm hitting the tent. I'm so glad we found this B &B. It was peaceful, tranquil and Beverley was very accommodating. The room layout was perfect as there was an adjoining bathroom that led onto the kids twin room. My eldest son is autistic and can find noise and new surroundings very difficult. This b & b was perfect for him as it was incredibly quiet, in a homely setting and he absolutely loved it here. The continental breakfast was lovely and the home made jams were out of this world. If we are visiting the area again we will definitely be back.

Beautiful place for a holiday! Highly recommend as a holiday location with a group - super sociable. My only recommendations would be if they provided bin bags etc to save bringing them, bigger cups for tea and nicer cutlery.
