Outdoor adventure in a rural setting is the name of the game at X Adventure Activities, a spacious woodland site about 20 minutes' drive from Norwich city centre. This 8.5-acre spot delivers genuine activity appeal—canoeing on the River Bure, archery, axe throwing, a high ropes course and a zipline that zooms right over one of the on-site lakes (activities vary by day and availability). It also makes a top base for laidback breaks surrounded by nature or for jaunts out to the stunning Norfolk Broads, just 20 minutes' drive away.
Simple amenities are kept clean and tidy by friendly site staff: toilets, hot showers, laundry facilities and a shared fridge and freezer. There's secure bike storage, too—particularly handy for those planning cycles along the car-free Marriott's Way, about 15 minutes' pedal from here. A covered barbecue area with plentiful outdoor seating is on offer, plus wild-style barbecues on the field (raised off the grass, please). Wood is available to buy on site for campfires, or bring your own.
Do note that activities are designed for ages eight and above, so the youngest in your travel tribe might prefer a trip to the local soft play centre, 20 minutes' walk away. The nearby village of Horsford has a well-stocked supermarket, fish and chips, takeaway and ice cream parlour.

We didn’t pre book but walked in, staff and people were very welcoming and friendly! 5*!!! The place could be improved, a lot of potential, but adding electricity to the cabins and renewing the toilets would be great! Surrounding is lovely, a lot of animals and activities! 5* with a bit more of attention to the details

Great campsite with extensive woodland for walking or chilling, very friendly and well-equipped, Thorpe Marriot fish & chips about 1 mile walk away. Showers didn't work hence lost a star 😒

My son recently attended a school residential trip at Bramley Lakes, run by X Adventure Activities, and was left very disappointed by the overall experience. The food provided was of poor quality, which included undercooked burgers being served on the second evening. Alarmingly, one child found glass in their meal, a serious incident that was later confirmed by the school. The accommodation was also below acceptable standards. The shower facilities were extremely basic and there was no electricity. The tents provided were clearly unfit for purpose. During the night, several children became soaked due to the inadequate tent provided and had to be relocated to the cabins at 2am. As a result, my son was required to share a mattress with one of the children who had been moved, which added to his discomfort.

Came for the archery and axe throwing (two partaking and family spectators) and it was absolutely amazing! The instructor was friendly and incredibly helpful, and loved the fact that we could be with them to watch. Everybody thoroughly enjoyed themselves, and already want to book back in! The rain didn’t stop the fun, and time passed so quickly as it was so good. Amazing value for money, highly recommend!
