🏡 Self-Catering Cottage

Hopton

North East Derbyshire

View on Google Maps

Darwin Lake Holiday Village occupies 10 acres of wooded grounds in North East Derbyshire, centred around a three-acre lake. Hopton is one of the stone-built properties here, set among the trees with direct access to the woodland and the Darwin Trail, a circular walk that takes around 15 minutes. The village has its own green and is designed as a small, self-contained community rather than a sprawling park.

The house sleeps seven across four bedrooms and three bathrooms. Downstairs, an open-plan living space combines the sitting and dining areas with a kitchen equipped for full self-catering—oven, hob, microwave, fridge and washing machine are all here. Three of the four bedrooms have ensuite facilities; the largest has a wet room with shower. Upstairs bedrooms share a further bathroom with bath and heated towel rail. A patio with garden furniture looks out over the grounds. There is parking for four cars on site, and essentials including electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are covered.

The setting suits families or groups wanting a quiet base with woodland to explore on foot. The lake is in the grounds, and no smoking is permitted throughout the property.
