This red brick and flint cottage dates back generations, its traditional character preserved in original fireplaces and period details that sit comfortably alongside modern comforts. Ground floor holds a living room with an open fire, a separate dining area, and a well-equipped kitchen with electric cooking, dishwasher and washing machine. Upstairs are two bedrooms—a double and two singles—plus a bathroom with bath and shower.

The whole property is yours alone, sleeping four. Wi-Fi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are included, along with fuel for the fire. There's a games room in the enclosed courtyard garden, which has seating and furniture for outdoor time. On-road parking is available. One pet stays free. The cottage is not suitable for smoking.

Felbrigg Hall is within reach for a day out, while Cromer's seafront and pier are close by. Sheringham's wide beach and Morston's seal boat trips are nearby too. The Norfolk Broads invite exploration if you venture further afield.

It's a lovely cottage with open fireplace and large kitchen - it is a shared property with Primrose Cottage and it is on the main road that leads either to Cromer ( Lidl & Morrisons about 1 mile) and the other direction 22 miles to Norwich which is why we needed a cottage close for work purposes for my husband for one day and dog holiday for just a few days - it's hard to accommodate our pups and although I don't leave them I wanted somewhere to relax. The road can be noisy if your in the garden as much from air traffic as cars ...but the house is quite and spacious. The stairs are very steep winding ones ...I knew this before I booked and knew I would have to crawl because of my osteoarthritis which was ok for me but it may not be suitable for others ..never the less pretty cottage nicely laid out and booked at short notice :)

We ended up in Primrose Cottage which is round the back. It’s a 30 minute walk to Cromer pier/beach front, and what we didn’t know (having dogs) was that we had to share the drive and the grassed garden with the people staying in Rose Cottage at the same time. We did have stains on the sheets in one of the doubles, and also another of the doubles - I would have thought cleaners would have picked up on this, but the kitchen had the basics needed for our stay (could have done with another pan/sheets in oven to cook on for 6 of us). Shower was lovely and powerful and plenty of towels left for each of us during the duration of our stay. In Primrose Cottage (the annex on the back) it was clean and tidy, not enough dishes for 6 of us and on the morning of check out, there was a VW van (guessing the owners) parked outside the gates (which made us nervous) and as soon as we were off the drive at 10.50am, the owner was in and checking the places which I thought seemed a bit rude. I would have liked for them to have waited until we were well out of the way before doing this. We did have a good stay - be careful of the step outside as I fell down it and cut both knees as I tripped, but I would stay in the area again, just not at the cottage.

Came home yesterday from an 8 night stay at Rose cottage. This was our 2nd visit and hopefully we will be back later in the year. The cottage is fabulous and has everything you need. The place is spotless the beds are really comfy. The living room is a great place to relax. We lit the fire a couple of times and it was really cosy. Our dogs love this Lots of great places to visit. This is a fantastic place
