Star Cottage opens directly onto a seafront village where the quay is barely a minute's walk away. The ground floor has a living room with woodburner, a separate dining room, and a kitchen fitted with an electric oven, gas hob, microwave and tumble dryer. Upstairs, bedroom one is a double, bedroom two has a single and a pull-out single, and a bathroom with bath, shower and heated towel rail. On the top floor, bedroom three is another double with its own shower room. The cottage sleeps six and comes with Wi-Fi, bed linen, towels and heating throughout; the woodburner's initial fuel is provided too.
Wells-next-the-Sea is a working harbour town rather than a pure resort. The quay itself is where locals and visitors catch crabs by hand line, where fishing trips and seal-watching boat trips depart, and where the Albatross, a converted Dutch barge, serves as restaurant and bar with live music most weekends in summer. Beyond that are sailing clubs, water sports facilities, a pitch-and-putt course, a cinema, theatre, and enough independent shops and cafés to fill several afternoons. One car can park on site; there is additional on-road parking nearby. One well-behaved pet stays free. No smoking inside.
