Walking trails fan out across the moors from Rohan Cottage, and Rosedale Abbey sits just over a mile away with its traditional pubs and tearooms. Blakey Ridge, accessible on foot, has a well-known pub serving hearty food. The cottage itself is a sandstone building from the 1860s, originally built for local ironstone miners; the old kilns are still visible on the nearby hillside.
The ground floor holds a living room with an open fire set in its original cast iron surround, a dining room with a working fireplace, and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking. There's a separate bathroom and utility room. Upstairs are two double bedrooms; the second has an en-suite shower room and a Smart TV. The cottage sleeps four and is yours alone. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are provided, along with a washing machine and dishwasher for practicalities. Outside is an enclosed garden with a sitting area reached across the road, offering views over the countryside.
The property suits couples and small families wanting a rural base for exploring the North York Moors. One well-behaved pet is welcome. No smoking indoors.
