The Pavilion

Walk through the entrance of The Pavilion and you arrive immediately into an open-plan living and dining space—no corridors, no stairs. The kitchen flows directly off this main area, fitted with a gas hob and electric oven for proper cooking. Utility facilities including a washing machine and tumble dryer are to hand. All four bedrooms lead from the ground floor, each with its own bathroom: the first has a kingsize bed and shower, the other three have doubles or twin singles with either a shower cubicle or a full bath. Entertainment is built in throughout—televisions, DVD players and music systems in the main living area and all bedrooms.

The property sits within the grounds of Killerby Hall, a Victorian estate dating from 1849, and you have use of a shared lawned garden with a decked seating area under an oak canopy, plus a barbecue. Parking for multiple cars is on site. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are covered. The setting puts you within reach of Cayton Bay, a popular surfing beach, and the broader Yorkshire coast—Scarborough with its castle and seafront amusements is close by, Robin Hood's Bay with its steep cobbled streets and sandy cove is under an hour away, and Whitby's port and award-winning beaches are a little further. The property does not allow smoking. A large unfenced pond lies in the grounds, which is worth noting if you're travelling with young children.
