Lake View Cottage is a period property in a small terrace on the edge of Kielder Water, within the International Dark Sky Park. The cottage sleeps four across three bedrooms: a double, two singles, and a single (flexible sleeping). There is one shower room. The sitting room and kitchen both have large windows framing views of the reservoir, and the tiered decking at the rear opens onto those same views with a table and chairs for eating outside.
The ground floor holds a living and dining space with a multi-fuel burner, a kitchen equipped for cooking and a dishwasher, and access to the decked garden. Upstairs, the bedrooms are arranged with the double at the front. Essentials like heating, electricity, linen and towels are included, along with Wi-Fi. The cottage has a small enclosed front garden and a bike store; a pub is within a mile. No smoking throughout.
The location puts you within reach of forest walks from the gate, the cycle route that runs past the property, and the observatory a few hundred yards away. The Dark Sky Park—the largest in Europe—attracts those interested in stargazing and long-exposure photography. Winter brings the Wonderland at Kielder Park nearby. The cottage suits couples, families and groups looking for a quiet base in the forest rather than a town centre stay.

Lovely cottage, in a beautiful location. Cottage is well appointed, warm & comfortable, really handy for great walking. Would definitely return for another stay. Photo’s are views from the rear of the cottage.

We spent 3 nights here and it is lovely! Everything is prepared and waiting for you on arrival - the attention to detail by the hosts is excellent. The views over Kielder both early morning and the dark skies at night, local walks and the comfort and warmth in the cottage are amazing, Thoroughly recommend a stay here

Lake View is the cosiest cottage we’ve ever stayed in. From the moment we arrived we felt at home. It was very well equipped with a high chair and travel cot if needed. We arrived to a beautiful welcome hamper which was very much appreciated. Waking up to the beautiful views of the lake was incredible and we spent many hours watching the wildlife and taking in the scenery. The cottage is much roomier than the photos suggest, plenty of room for my little boys to run about. We can’t wait to return.
