Middle Cottage

Families and groups of up to six will find Middle Cottage works well as a self-contained base in the village of Shilbottle, roughly midway between Alnmouth on the coast and Alnwick inland. The village itself is quiet, with The Farriers Arms nearby for an evening out. You get the whole place to yourselves: a living room with a woodburner, a kitchen/dining room with electric oven and dishwasher, three bedrooms and two bathrooms spread across two floors. The main bedroom is downstairs with an ensuite shower; upstairs are two further bedrooms, one with its own bathroom. One small or medium dog stays free. Wi-Fi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included, plus initial logs for the fire.

The kitchen is properly equipped for cooking and there's a travel cot and highchair if needed. Outside, an enclosed garden with patio and seating gives a private space, and there's parking for two cars on site. From here you can reach the coast within a short drive, or explore the Cheviot Hills to the south. Alnwick and its castle, gardens and independent shops lie four miles away. No smoking inside the property.
