Staff, food and atmosphere all lovely. The new decor makes a bug difference. It is a lovely country pub. I can't wait to see what they do next. The staff also went out of their way to look after my daughter, chatting t her and bringing her paper and pens to draw with. The garden is also lovely and they have air con in the pub which is great during this heat.

A little bit disappointed as moved here locally and found the food to be quite small portion size and a bit bland. I ordered the seabass. However we visited on a nice sunny day and enjoyed our spot in the lovely garden for drinks. The staff seem really nice and friendly enough and will try a different food option next time. My partner had the veggie burger and chips and enjoyed it and was a good portion size.

Location worked well for us but I can see it not working for some as it is in the countryside and not near a town etc. but you clearly have the choice and can see this before booking. All staff were super friendly and helpful, they really were great all round! Food was of a very good standard with generous servings. Breakfast and evening meals were all very good and tasty. The only thing I would say is the room we stayed in was dated and in need of decoration.

Had a great meal from the new menu, I don’t usually review but I think this meal deserves it. Firstly, I had the haddock and chips and was delighted when a real bottle of ketchup arrived at the table, no messy sachets! The fish was perfect and the chips were another level, crunchy and soft in the middle, just how I like it. My partner had the crispy chilli beef, she said extremely tasty, just the right amount of chilli. Looking forward to seeing the refurbished, we will be back!
