A detached lodge built to take advantage of its rural setting, Karelia occupies its own level on a working farm in the heart of Perthshire. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame views across the River Tay and the countryside beyond. The whole property is yours alone, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and space for four guests under one roof. One well-behaved dog can stay free of charge.
Inside, the lodge has everything needed for self-catering: a kitchen equipped for cooking proper meals, heating and hot water throughout, wi-fi, and bed linen and towels provided. Parking is on site. From the lodge, miles of footpaths and quiet country roads lead into the surrounding landscape. Kenmore, a conservation village at the end of Loch Tay, is three miles away and offers riverside walks, boat trips, water sports and restaurants. Aberfeldy, under ten minutes' drive, has independent shops, galleries, an Art Deco cinema and a whisky distillery. The area suits walkers of all abilities—seven Munros including Ben Lawers lie within ten miles—as well as mountain bikers, rafters and golfers. The River Tay is renowned for salmon fishing. From here you can reach Perth, Stirling, Pitlochry, Oban, Glencoe and the ski slopes at Aviemore or Glenshee, all within reasonable driving distance. No smoking inside.
