Kenmore Lodge works well for families or groups wanting a private base in Highland Perthshire. The three bedrooms sleep six: a kingsize with its own ensuite and patio doors to the garden, a zip-and-link super kingsize, and two further singles that can be configured as another zip-and-link. A family bathroom with bath and shower completes the setup. Essentials like electricity, bed linen and towels are provided, and there's a travel cot and highchair available if needed.

The open-plan living space on the first floor has a woodburner for cooler evenings, a kitchen equipped for proper cooking, and patio doors opening onto a balcony and terrace. The garden is fenced, with a terrace and BBQ area at the rear. Parking is available for two cars. The property allows one dog to stay at no extra cost; note that there are ten steps up from the parking area to the entrance, and the garden has a sloping bank.

The lodge sits on the Mains Of Taymouth Country Estate at the eastern end of Loch Tay. Kenmore village itself is a short walk away—a conservation area with a hotel dating back centuries, riverside walks through Taymouth Castle grounds, and access to the loch for swimming or water sports. Aberfeldy lies six miles along the road. The Tay is renowned for salmon fishing, and the area has two golf courses and regular local events.

The lodge itself was beautiful, and I loved being able to bring the dogs with me. The bed was very comfortable, the cabin was lovely and warm, and it was very easy to relax and feel at home there. The only downside in the lodge was that the toaster was questionable, and the knives were unbelievably blunt. The shop was incredibly well stocked, the quality in there was such a surprise but it's well worth a visit. You could easily visit for a week and have enough supplies to cook every night. The restaurant was a letdown. The steak was thin, tough, and folded in half to make it look thicker. The drinks were good, and the bar had a nice atmosphere. The dog walks just off the site were great, we enjoyed them very much. The golf course was also very well kept for winter, and it was very easy to get a tee time.

The lodge we stayed in for 3 nights was really nice and well appointed. View of the spectacular scenery was second to none. Lodge needs a little maintenance but nothing major and to be classed as luxury, toiletries need to be increased a little. However, overall we had a wonderful holiday.

We visited twice for dinner in mid Aug 2020. We have been a couple of times before and such a great location. The staff were very nice and so good with the kids (despite wearing masks, they made an effort to make the comfortable). The food is really good and ideal location. In the second night they did forgot 9oir mains, so had to chase them up, which meant the kids were a little restless, but otherwise could not fault them 👏

We have been coming here for over 20 years. Just spent 2 days there. So disappointing. While staff were very nice, the hotel needs considerable investment. Cracked sink and blackened shower screen in our room. The restaraunt was very poor. Furniture needs thrown in a skip. My chair literally fell apart. Food service very slow, decent menu, badly cooked. The current owners seem to be taking the money because of the fabulous location and not investing in the comfort of their guests. Will not be back until that changes.
