Lapwing is a handcrafted shepherds hut standing in the Tulliemet valley near Perth, built in Cumbria and furnished with a mix of modern comfort and antique pieces. Everything is contained on one level within the hut itself: a combined living and dining space with a wood-burner, a kitchen with electric cooking, a bedroom with a king-size bed, and a shower room. Underfloor heating and electricity throughout mean it stays warm whatever the weather. Bed linen and towels are provided.
Outside, the grounds include a fire pit surrounded by wooden chairs and wool rugs, garden furniture, and parking for one car. The setting draws wildlife including osprey, eagles, deer and beavers, while walking trails start from the door. The Tulliemet valley offers clear night skies away from light pollution. The hut draws water from a borehole. There are steps both at the entrance and within the grounds. Smoking is not permitted.
The location puts you within reach of shopping and activities around Perth and Kinross, though the appeal lies in the rural isolation—a two-person retreat rather than a base for exploring nearby towns.
