Boringdon Hall Hotel & Spa

Friends had stayed in the early part of 2026 and suggested that we should visit as we like a decent hotel and spa. The place did not disappoint.... Zoe on reception was lovely and helpful...very impressive spa. We booked to take our dog in a courtyard room but as the second heatwave of the year hit we decided to leave her at home and upgrade to a wellness room as these had a/c. Best £135 we have spent for many months! The bedroom was well equipped and the bed very comfortable and the a/c worked a treat. Even the in-room tub was well designed and being former hospitality owners we know often these items have design over substance. Also for a visit we heard no canoodling, talking or other clients which was wonderful asset. We ate at the hotel one evening and the food was well presented, tasty and served by a group of happy servers. The breakfast buffet was very good and again the staff who were totally over dressed for the weather (note to management...spa hotel clients won't be offended if your staff wear shorts and polo shirts in the warmer months...) offered lovely tasty choices as well as a decent cold spread. Hot food all cooked to order.... The spa is impressive if perhaps a victim of its own success. As the temperate as in the mid 30c the outside relaxing area came into play....on a cold day there are only about 12 beds to use inside. But the point of a spa is not to sit, drink wine and talk loudly on your speaker phone (yup some folks need to be more considerate...) but to use the sauna, steam rooms and pool all of which were in decent condition, very clean and for a midweek visit coped with the quantity of clients. We will return....can't hope for more than that can you?

Superb hotel. From arriving to leaving this is a top class service. The Spa is one of the best we have been to and the massages from Jasmin and Melanie were top class. Celebrating my birthday in the Acleaf restaurant was special. Lovely food and excellent service staff. The only one let down was the bathroom in our courtyard room (could do with an upgrade). The room itself was lovely. Overall top class and we will return.

Overall, we had a lovely stay at Boringdon Hall. The room was beautiful, comfortable, and made for a very relaxing break. The spa was a real highlight of our visit – it was peaceful, well maintained, and exactly what we were hoping for. We also enjoyed dinner at the Mayflower Restaurant. The food was very nice and well presented, although a little more choice on the menu would make the dining experience even better. The only area that could be improved is the service. The gentleman who checked us in at reception didn’t seem particularly welcoming or helpful, and the check-in felt quite rushed. While the rest of the staff were polite, some came across as a little stiff rather than warm and engaging. The biggest disappointment was the breakfast pricing. At £30 per person, we didn’t feel it offered good value for money and it’s difficult to justify that cost. Despite these points, we had a pleasant and relaxing stay overall. With a few improvements to the service and breakfast value, the experience would be even better.

We visited for afternoon tea on Father's Day. The cream tea is something else. Outstanding finger sandwiches and savoury pastries (including the best light-as-a-feather sausage roll I've ever had) are followed by incredible scones with a choice of homemade jams and then a choice from the trolley of the most beautiful array of patisserie I've ever seen. There's also an extensive list of teas served. We had four different kinds and they were all delicious. Service is warm and attentive. We've enjoyed afternoon tea in many places over the years - this place beats them all. Thank you to everyone who looked after us so well.
