About St Elizabeths House
St Elizabeths House occupies a grand, characterful building on Longbrook Street in Plymouth, its elegant proportions giving the hotel a distinct sense of occasion rather than the feel of a standard chain stay. En-suite rooms come with free WiFi, drinks and room service, and there are accessible rooms and a lift for ease of movement around the property.
The restaurant is a strong draw in its own right, with dishes such as seabass, roast lamb and crème brûlée served in generous portions and finished to a good standard. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, helped along by attentive, professional staff, and there's a bar, outdoor seating and a garden for quieter moments, plus meeting rooms for those combining business with the stay.
Free on-site parking makes it an easy base for exploring Plymouth and the wider Devon countryside, with golf, fishing, pubs and other restaurants all within easy reach nearby. Laundry and luggage storage round out the practical touches, making it a comfortable choice for longer stays as well as short breaks.
What guests say
Stayed for a night while visiting the area. The location is picturesque and our room was large and comfortable. We were given a friendly welcome and appreciated the free parking. Highlight was, however, the food. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent - really high level restaurant quality. We left from our stay well rested and fed.

From the very first meeting with Becky two years ago, I knew St Elizabeth’s House was the perfect venue for us. Becky was incredibly attentive to our needs and one of the most welcoming people we’ve ever met. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and she made us feel as though we were the only couple to ever get married there, giving us such personal care and attention throughout the entire process. The agenda meetings with Becky in the lead-up to the wedding were fantastic. She came to each one so open-minded and genuinely excited about our ideas, which made the whole planning process feel collaborative, relaxed, and really special. The food was exceptional—truly outstanding quality—and the team went above and beyond to cater for my very fussy daughter, which meant so much to us. It was also our daughter’s third birthday, and having Elsa from Frozen visit during the wedding breakfast to wish her a happy birthday created the most magical and beautiful memories that we will cherish forever. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful, while still offering the flexibility to decorate and personalise everything to suit our colour scheme and vision. On the day of the wedding, Becky and Jade (the wedding coordinators) did everything possible to ensure the day ran seamlessly. Their organisation and calm presence made such a difference, and all of our guests commented on how amazing the staff were. The intimate breakfast with our guests the following morning was the perfect ending to such a special and unforgettable day. We already can’t wait to return and celebrate our anniversaries with you! Love, Mr & Mrs Collins xx

Stayed here for one night. Location is in a quiet area with lovely gardens and the room was nicely decorated. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The two staff on breakfast, the cleaner who had chats with us each time we saw her and the bar staff were super friendly and made us feel welcomed. However, found the reception lady very judgemental as she looked us up and down upon our arrival and was not friendly at all. Didn’t feel welcomed by her hence not a five star. There was an event happening in the main area and the only way to get to the main stair case to access the room was through where an event was being held. This made it difficult to access the staircase with our luggage as had to ask our way through the crowded room as people starred at us. We were wanting to do some work in the lounge area but there was no room due to the event taking up all the space, so we departed. Upon arriving back we notice the lounge area vacant but asked the same lady at reception upon our arrival if we could make use of the space for us to do work in case there was another event as there was no room in our standard room for the two of us to work on our business, to which we received a rude response about using the space. Also, over heard other guests who booked standard rooms receiving upgrades from the same lady as the accommodation was quiet. Please be aware if encounter a bad welcoming experience as we did, it doesn’t represent the rest of the team. Overall it was okay but not fantastic.

We had such a wonderful experience here! The restaurant itself is set in a beautiful old house, which gives it so much charm and character — it instantly felt warm and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious, easily some of the best we’ve had in a long time, and all at a really great price. Every dish was full of flavour and clearly made with care. What made the evening even more special was the thoughtful surprise they gave us for our anniversary — such a lovely touch that really made us feel valued. Fantastic atmosphere, amazing food, and genuinely kind service. We’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend it!
