What visitors say
Visiting Birling Gap and the Seven Sisters was an absolutely breathtaking experience. The natural beauty of the white chalk cliffs against the blue sea is something that photos don’t fully capture—you really have to see it in person. The area feels peaceful and refreshing, making it a perfect escape from the busy city life. Whether you’re going for a short walk or planning to explore more of the coastline, the views are stunning from every angle. The site is well managed by the National Trust, with good facilities including parking, a visitor centre, and a café. There are clear walking paths and signposts, making it easy to explore safely. The access down to the beach via the steps at Birling Gap is a highlight, though it can be a bit steep, so comfortable footwear is definitely recommended. One thing to keep in mind is that the cliffs are constantly eroding, so certain areas are restricted for safety reasons. It’s important to follow the guidelines and stay within marked paths. The weather can also change quickly along the coast, so it’s a good idea to check conditions before visiting. Overall, Birling Gap and the Seven Sisters offer one of the most scenic coastal experiences in the UK. It’s an ideal spot for nature lovers, photographers, or anyone looking for a relaxing day out with incredible views. Definitely worth the visit if you’re anywhere near the South Coast.

Probably one of the best beaches to come to. At low tide does have sandy beach. Beautiful cliffs. Relax on the beach or on the cliffs. Something for everyone! You can go for a proper hike or a short hike or no hikes. It's definitely worth visiting this place! Please remember to clean up after yourself. Take your rubbish with you. Let others enjoy what you just enjoyed. And let's take care of the planet!

It's nice to have a visitor centre with a car park and bus stop to access Seven Sisters Cliff and beach from the nearby towns. However the centre is completely overwhelmed on busy days. On our visit there was a 15 minute queue for the water refill and and around 30+ minutes queue for the bathrooms. There was little regulation on the parking neither with a coach driver deciding to just leave his vehicle unattended on the side of the road making it very difficult for other busses to pass.
