Folly Cottage stands inside a Georgian walled garden that has been carefully reconstructed on the South Downs near East Dean. The stone walls offer shelter and privacy, enclosing a functioning garden that has been rebuilt to match its historical appearance. The cottage itself is a newly built flint dwelling on the ground floor, with a living space that opens onto a terrace, a kitchen equipped for proper cooking, and two bedrooms—one double with ensuite, one with two singles and a separate bathroom with bath and shower.
The essentials are covered: electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi. There is private parking for two cars, a washing machine and tumble dryer in an external utility room, and a back garden with seating and a barbecue. One well-behaved pet is welcome. The property sleeps four and is yours alone for the duration of your stay.
The location opens onto serious walking country. Beachy Head's white cliffs and the Seven Sisters are nearby, while East Dean village—with its pubs, deli and village green—is a short walk inland. Friston Forest suits mountain bikers, Cuckmere Haven draws kayakers and canoeists, and the wider area is known for migrating birds. The South Downs Way is also within reach. Smoking is not permitted inside.
