🏡 Self-Catering Cottage 🐾 Pets Welcome

Chestnut Lodge

Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters cliffs dominate the landscape around Chestnut Lodge, but the real draw is what lies within reach on foot. East Dean village is a short walk away, gathered around a green with pubs and a deli. From there, circular routes and longer trails fan out across downland, while Friston Forest appeals to mountain bikers and Cuckmere Haven to paddlers. The South Downs Way, a 100-mile national trail, runs nearby for walkers, cyclists and riders. The beach itself is 1.4 miles away. This is countryside for people who want to be active.

The cottage sits on one level, arranged around an open-plan living and dining space with French doors onto a front patio where a barbecue is built in. The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking. One bedroom has a double bed and its own en-suite bathroom with bath and overhead shower; the other two bedrooms hold single beds (one twin room, one single room with patio doors). A separate shower room serves the other bedrooms. Parking for three cars is on site, and essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included. One well-behaved dog is welcome. No smoking throughout.
