About Luccombe Manor Country House Hotel

Popham Road sits on the edge of Shanklin, close enough to the coast that many rooms at Luccombe Manor Country House Hotel look straight out over the sea. It's a traditional country house set-up on the Isle of Wight, with gardens around it and the town within easy reach for anyone wanting to walk down to the beach or explore further along the coast.

The hotel has 23 rooms, and while some are furnished in a more traditional, older style rather than anything sleek or modern, guests are looked after by staff who are consistently described as helpful. Breakfast is a particular strength, generous and well-regarded, served before a day spent using the facilities on site: an indoor swimming pool, a spa and sauna, and even a mini-golf course in the grounds. There's also a restaurant and bar for evening meals and drinks, plus free WiFi throughout.

Dogs are properly welcome here rather than merely tolerated, making it a straightforward choice for anyone travelling with a pet. Free on-site parking and EV charging cover practical needs, while the garden and sea views give the place a relaxed, coastal feel that suits longer stays on the island.

We had a really lovely stay at Luccombe Manor Country House Hotel. The views from the property and the gardens are beautiful, making it a very relaxing place to sit and unwind. A few things that made the trip for us: • Very dog-friendly: Our dogs were genuinely welcomed, including gifts in the room, a separate dog kitchen, a doggy paddle pool and sausages for breakfast which made traveling with a pet completely stress-free and made the dogs very happy!. • Helpful staff: All the team working there were incredibly nice and couldn't do enough to help us out during our stay. • EV charging: Having an electric car charger on-site was super convenient and saved us from having to hunt one down on the island. Overall, it's a fantastic hotel with great service and practical amenities. If we have the dogs, we’d definitely stay here again. Big thank you to all the staff

Nice hotel with a beautiful sea view. The price was a bit on the higher side, but there are plenty of outdoor games and fun activities available, which adds value to the stay. The breakfast options were limited, but still manageable. The staff were welcoming, though there’s some room for improvement in service. The outdoor pools were closed due to maintenance, but we were able to use the indoor pool at their sister property, which was convenient. The sea view from the triple bedroom was excellent and definitely a highlight. However, there is no air-conditioning, but two fans were provided. The toilet was also quite small, making it a bit inconvenient. On the positive side, parking is available on-site. Overall, a pleasant stay with a few areas that could be improved.

Lovely kid friendly as well as dog friendly hotel. We had a really nice time with our toddler staying here at our first visit to the Isle of Wight. The location is lovely, with our room overlooking the pool and the sea beyond. The grounds of the hotel as well as the adjacent hotel which are connected, are lovely, with mini golf, cosy sitting spaces as well as a large chess board. There was lots to do for our toddler with an outdoor playground as qell as indoor play area and the indoor pool and jacuzzi were great for the colder days. The walks nearby lead to the beautiful Chine waterfall and walkway that leads down to the beach. And the old town nearby with charming shops and cafes. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. All in all, a very enjoyable stay!

Fantastic location next to Shanklin. Amazing ground, ornate and opulent inside. Generous breakfast with cereal, pastries, bread and a wide range of fruit - then a cooked breakfast and pots of tea/coffee! Didn't know about the bonus of free tickets to the Chine next door. The facilities for us 3 were amazing (e.g. petanque, mini-golf - all included), they also cater for dogs incredibly!! We should have used the heated pool/hot tub! Super quiet and tranquil also.
