About Luccombe Hall Hotel

Shanklin's mix of clifftop views and gentle seaside charm sets the scene for Luccombe Hall Hotel, a historic property on Luccombe Road within reach of Shanklin Chine and Carisbrooke Castle. The building's period character comes through in its gardens and grounds, while the setting makes the most of the Isle of Wight coastline beyond.

Rooms are comfortable, many with balconies and sea views, and all come with en-suite bathrooms; family and accessible rooms are also available. Guests can make use of an indoor and an outdoor heated pool, a games room, a spa and sauna, plus a restaurant, bar and snack bar. Afternoon tea is a particular strength, with a good spread of sandwiches, scones and cakes, and breakfast, room service and drinks in the room are all on offer. Staff are consistently described as friendly and accommodating.

Outside, the well-kept gardens and picnic area invite a slower pace, while the surrounding area offers walking, cycling, fishing and watersports, along with pubs and restaurants nearby. Free on-site parking and an electric vehicle charge point make it a practical base for exploring the island.

My Mum and I had a lovely afternoon tea today in the conservatory overlooking the garden with sea views. The selection of sandwiches, cakes, scone, cream and jam were all fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. We had 3 pots of tea and excellent service. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

Amazing hotel with comforting and lovely staff members. Luxorious swimming pools inside and outside for anyone to use. Food is always on point and delicous plus always comes out quick. Astounding games room for young ones and a nice pool table + air hockey just outside the games room. Would reccomend to everyone.

A very expensive hotel, punching well above its weight. The hotel is saved only by the standard of the dinner on offer....superb. The hotel is dated and slightly run down. Our executive suite offered a good sea view, but I fail to understand why just adding a radio, fruit, dressing gowns etc warrants being called executive. The hotel borders on a 2/3 star. Here's why. We had no heating in our room that was still not fixed when we left. We were offered an electric heater but that was barely powerful enough. We also had no hot water until I asked why. The system was totally erratic in operation.Still up and down when we left. The shower was pathetic, absolutely no power in it at all, you had to run around to get wet!! only used it once after that as once again no hot water at all.The room also had damp and black mould in corners of the room, mainly on the exit to the balcony by the doors, mould was also seen in bathroom.. For the money I paid, disappointed
