A 15-room hotel in Shanklin, Isle of Wight, with a garden, restaurant and bar, plus free on-site parking.
About Marlborough Hotel
A modest, family-run-feeling building with just 15 rooms, the Marlborough Hotel has the scale of a proper small hotel rather than a chain outpost. It sits on Queens Road in Shanklin, close enough to the town to walk in but quiet enough to feel settled.
Rooms come with drinks making facilities, and breakfast is served alongside a restaurant and bar for evening meals and a nightcap. There's a garden for sitting out, plus luggage storage and concierge services for practical help, and the hotel doubles as a venue for weddings and meetings, with dedicated meeting rooms on site. Free on-site parking makes it a straightforward base if you're arriving by car.
Shanklin itself is under a mile away, and the Continental Ferry Terminal is a nearby point of reference for those travelling on to or from the mainland. It's a fair fit for anyone wanting an unfussy stay on the Isle of Wight without the frills of a larger resort hotel.

What guests say
Pascal and all his staff are so friendly and welcoming. Breakfast choice and standard is excellent. Rooms cleaned every day. Plenty of private parking, so no hunting around for a space. Downsides are the shower which is so small and the TV aswell, plus in our room 15, the Internet doesn't work, so you have to go downstairs to get a signal. Overall we have had a great time as we enjoy the beach, but have struggled to get a decent meal on the night time, the standards of food and service is very low. If you stay here, I would recommend the Chine inn for a good evening out with entertainment every night, but they don't cater for food. Marked the room down as it was small plus the shower,TV and Internet issues.

Lovely hotel... staff couldn't do more for you, very friendly. The "included" breakfast was absolutely amazing and rooms very comfortable. Location was perfect and close to the centre of Shanklin, perfect to explore the town or jump on the train/ bus and explore the island. Will definitely be returning. Thanks for the incredible hospitality.

Lovely hotel! We had an amazing room with a balcony and a comfy bed. Great location, close enough to walk to the train station as well as to the front, chine, bus stop for sightseeing buses etc. The staff is just the most amazing people and they really made sure we got the most of our visit on the island. The breakfast was really nice as well with a good selection of hot dishes. We look forward to coming back every year as a new tradition.

We had a fabulous stay here over the bank holiday. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is amazing! There was a great choice of good quality food and they even catered for my gluten free diet! You could find something to please even the fussiest of eaters. The facilities are good too and we enjoyed the bar and games area. Our room was really clean and comfortable. Great value considering the proximity to the beach, the old town and Shanklin Chine. I would definitely stay here again.
