Bryn Bella sits on the hillside above Betws-y-Coed, looking out across the village and the Gwydir Forest. It is run by Joan and Mark, who have been at it for over two decades and hold an AA 4-Star Gold rating along with the AA Breakfast Award. Both are keen outdoor people themselves, which shows in how the place is set up.
The bedrooms are modern, well maintained and comfortable, with good beds and en suite bathrooms — this is a long way from the chintzy guest house of memory. Rooms at the front take advantage of the view, which is the single best thing about the property. The house is small, so there are only a handful of rooms and it books up well ahead for weekends and holidays.
Breakfast is cooked to order each morning using eggs from the owners' own free-range hens and seasonal produce from the garden, and it is consistently the thing guests mention first in reviews. Practical facilities are thought through: free on-site parking, drying facilities for wet kit, complimentary EV charging for direct bookings, and a free lift from Betws-y-Coed station for guests arriving by train. The owners were the first guest house in Eryri to install EV charging and hold Plastic Free champion status.
The location puts you a few minutes above the busiest village in the national park, with the Gwydir Forest trails, Swallow Falls and Conwy Falls close by and Snowdon around thirty minutes away by car. It suits walkers, cyclists and couples who want a well-run, quiet base with good local advice on tap, and it is one of the better-value ways to stay in this part of Snowdonia. There is no restaurant, but the village has plenty of options within walking distance.

We stayed at Bryn Bella for a mini get away, and would 100% return. The service we received from arrival to departure was fantastic, warm, friendly and genuinely couldn’t do enough for us. The room was very clean and comfortable, excellent shower and nice coffee. The highlight was the view. The bay window was like an ever changing picture of a beautiful landscape. And once the sun went down the stars came out and with 0 light pollution we could have sat there all night. Beautiful breakfast of fresh fruit and a cooked breakfast in the morning. Cannot recommend enough.

What can I say? I absolutely fell in love with Bryn Bella. Everything was perfect, the room, the breakfast, the whole house is so beautiful and the area so peaceful. The views at su set are also worth it. Mark and Joan have been amazing hosts, they allowed me to keep the motorcycle secured in their garage and they even helped me out when my tyre pressure valve cap broke (thank you again!). The breakfast was also second to none, probably one of the best I had in though out my stay in Wales. I will definitely stay here again next time.

A warm welcome from Mark on arrival he was chatty and pleasant. Our room was on the ground floor which was clean and just what we needed for the one nights stay. The b&b was quiet and peaceful which meant for a good night's sleep. We enjoyed watching the birds on the feeders at breakfast and our vegan diet was accommodated for with vegan sausages, fresh fruit ect. Thank you

I had a wonderful stay here. I chose this place for the location (close to the Field Study Centre) but was very touched by the kindness, thoughtfulness and genuine welcome shown by the lovely hosts, Mark and Joan. The additional extra touches were fabulous including things I didn't search for but definitely appreciated (like the gorgeous Portmeiron pottery sets in the room and dining area or the microwave). I really enjoyed the chats, local knowledge and stories, the fantastic view with breakfast, the help with ice packs (injured knee). Huge thanks from me!
