The Vinery

Kingsbridge sits in South Hams, where rolling countryside gives way to some of Devon's finest coastline within a few miles. The Vinery occupies this sweet spot between rural charm and seaside access, making it equally suited to exploring Torbay's beaches or heading inland towards Dartmoor's natural parkland. The Dolphin Inn is nearby for a quick drink without the drive.

This 15th-century cottage has been thoroughly modernised but retains genuine character. Downstairs is an open-plan kitchen and living area where you can cook proper meals—the kitchen has everything from a proper oven to a dishwasher—then settle into the living space with Netflix, a DVD player and a large corner sofa. A dining area with monk benches seats four. Upstairs are two bedrooms: one with a double bed and ensuite shower, the other with twin beds and an ensuite bathroom with bath and shower. Both have heated towel rails. A private garden with a sitting-out area faces west for evening sun, and there's parking for one car on the drive.

One medium-sized dog stays free. The essentials—heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi—are included. Note that there is an unfenced pond in the garden, and the property is not suitable for children under 2. No smoking indoors. Arrival is after 17:00, departure before 09:00.
