This is truly a hidden gem! It’s hard to believe it’s in the middle of London, and yet when you enter, you feel like you’ve stepped into a sanctuary! A place where you can stop for a moment and just appreciate the surroundings! I joined a tour around the garden and it was fascinating to hear the history and to learn about some of the important medicinal plants. It was a hot day and there were plenty of seats especially in the shade! An absolute find and highly recommend!

A little gem of a garden. There are some magnificent mature trees here, underpinned by some interesting planting displays. And the small glass house devoted to carnivorous plants and cacti is particularly good. I loved the pelargonium house and the outside bed of grasses. And for lovers of Victoriana, the herringbone brickpaths with roundels, all close laid in traditional style, are exemplary. Finally, the cafeteria serves great coffee and light lunches. I had a warm hispi and chick- pea salad which was memorably well flavoured.

A beautiful botanical garden — quiet, charming, and such a lovely place in the middle of the city. There’s a cosy little café that feels almost like being in a countryside garden. It’s a shame the kitchen closes at 2:30, but they still offer cold salads and cakes afterwards. Cosy, tasty, and perfect for sitting in the shade. I really love this place.

For us this was an ideal place to let our toddler run along the paths and play. This truly is a hidden gem - the grounds are gorgeous, the cafe is delicious. We were so fortunate to have spectacular spring weather wich made walking around a delight. I am a particularly fan of botanical gardens in full bloom - all the vibrant colors and shapes.
