Gartclach Farm - Fiadh Ruadh

Photo: Gartclach Farm

Stirling's countryside pulls in walkers and outdoor enthusiasts year-round, and Gartclach Farm sits on the edge of Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, within reach of Queen Elizabeth Forest Park. Fiadh Ruadh is a contemporary house on the farm's grounds, one of three detached properties each set in its own enclosed garden. Red deer regularly graze the surrounding fields.

Three bedrooms sleep six: two kingsize rooms (one with an ensuite and dressing area) and a twin. Three bathrooms mean everyone has space to themselves. The open-plan ground floor has a woodburning stove, a kitchen equipped for proper cooking, and a utility room with washer and dryer. Wifi, heating, bed linen and towels are all included. The enclosed rear garden has a private hot tub for five, seating and a barbecue, with parking for four cars outside.

One dog stays free. The nearest villages—Aberfoyle, Balfron, Drymen and Killearn—are 10–20 minutes away by car, each with cafes, restaurants and shops. Loch Lomond, Loch Katrine, Go Ape and Blair Drummond Safari Park are all within 30 minutes' drive. A café and gift shop are within walking distance of the property.

We recently booked all three cottages for a week away with friends, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the very beginning, communication with Lesley-Ann was fantastic. Friendly, prompt, and incredibly helpful. Nothing was too much trouble, and it made the whole booking process smooth and stress free. The cottages themselves are absolutely beautiful, tucked away in a stunning landscape that feels peaceful and private. It’s the perfect place to truly switch off and relax. The setting is quiet and serene, yet ideally located — only 20–30 minutes from both Loch Katrine and Loch Lomond, making day trips easy and scenic. For those who enjoy hiking, there are plenty of Munros and Corbetts within easy reach, which was a real bonus for our group. The hot tubs were an absolute highlight and a big hit with everyone. Adults and children alike! After a day exploring, there was nothing better than soaking in the hot tub and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. We truly cannot thank you enough for such a fabulous stay. We made wonderful memories and wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend these cottages to others looking for a relaxing getaway in a breathtaking part of Scotland.

We had the most fantastic stay at Gartclach Farm with Leslie Anne as our host. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. The house itself is absolutely stunning—spacious, beautifully kept, and full of charm. Every detail made us feel welcome and comfortable. The surrounding area is just breathtaking. Nestled in such a peaceful setting, Gartclach Farm offers true tranquility—it’s the perfect place to relax, unwind, and soak in the beauty of the Scottish countryside. Leslie Anne was a wonderful host: warm, thoughtful, and always ready to help while giving us plenty of space to enjoy our stay. If you’re looking for a mix of comfort, natural beauty, and total peace, Gartclach Farm is simply unbeatable. Highly recommended!
