Lakeview Cottages at Mondhui - The Old Barn

The Old Barn is a converted stone structure dating back several centuries, part of the private Mondhui estate within Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. It occupies an elevated hillside position above the Lake of Menteith, Scotland's only lake, with unobstructed views across the water to the ruins of Inchmahome Priory. Ground-floor living means one bedroom with a kingsize bed, a bathroom with bath and shower, and a combined kitchen and living space with a woodburner and French doors opening onto decking.

The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, and essentials including electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are covered. One dog is welcome and can roam the 42 acres of shared woodland grounds, though it must stay on a lead due to sheep in the area. There are ponds on and near the property that attract osprey, red kites and other wildlife. Direct access from the cottage leads into the Menteith Hills and connects to the Rob Roy Way, with hundreds of miles of forest tracks for walking. The Lake Hotel sits at the water's edge nearby and offers a 10% discount for guests. Ground-floor access is straightforward, though the garden itself has slopes and drops that need care, and two cars can park on site.
