Woodsell Farm - Linnet

Photo: Woodsell

Woodsell Farm – Linnet suits couples after peace and nature. This ground-floor conversion occupies a former stable within a working wilding project that spans 180 acres of the Kent Downs. Everything happens in one flowing space: living and dining areas, a kitchen fitted with electric cooking and a dishwasher, and a bedroom with a king-size bed. A wet room with shower completes the setup. The essentials – heating, power, linen and towels – are covered; wifi is also provided.

Beyond the walls, a patio opens directly onto wildflower meadows. The property shares access to a heated outdoor pool (May to September) and communal laundry facilities in a utility room. You have private parking for one car. There is an unfenced pond in the grounds. Stalisfield village is nearby, while the surrounding landscape – positioned between two wildlife trust reserves – draws walkers, birdwatchers and photographers. Children are welcome if you request a travel cot or highchair in advance. No smoking inside.

We had an extremely comfortable stay at Woodsell for 4 nights. From the comfy bed, the use of eco-friendly products and the furniture made on site, everything was cleverly and well thought through. We particularly enjoyed the strolls through the woods seeing the wildflowers and hearing the birdsong. The swimming pool had just opened and looked very inviting. It is a special place and we are really looking forward to our next stay.

I had an amazing two day stay at Woodsell Farm last week. I stayed at the Dunnock Cottage and it was awesome. The cottage is fully equipped, all you need to do is bring your food and toothbrush! The bed is super comfortable, the bathroom and shower are amazing! I went for lots of walks around the farm following the routes that they have laid out for you, & spent time in the bird hide. Made some nice dinner and enjoyed listening to the birds late at night. I also did a long walk down to Chartham through the fields & byways taking in windmills ,sheep & amazing mushrooms & lush fields & forests. On the farm you can see lots of wildlife! Buzzards and listening to the Tawny Owls late at night was lovely. I’ll be back for sure. Really amazing place to be. Thank you. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had a lovely short stay at Woodsell in Swallow cottage last week with our 3 year old. It felt like we were abroad without the hassle or expense! The cottage was in perfect condition and we massively over packed as the cottage was filled with pretty much everything we needed including beach towels, toiletries, books, binoculars even a small toy train set (perfect for our train obsessed toddler) The scenery is so beautiful and idilic and we spent most of our break in or around the pool! When we were leaving I asked our son if he wanted to come back here next year, he replied “no….i want to live here” 😂 we’ll definitely be back!!

We had a short break of 4 days and stayed in "Swallow", one of the cottages converted from traditional farm buildings. Despite being only 90 mins or so from SW London, the location is wonderfully quiet and felt much further afield. The conversion is to a very high standard with quality in mind and was very well equipped. There were lots of small considered offerings such as OS maps, wildlife manuals, a freezer of prepared meals, ice lollies by the pool, fresh roasted coffee beans with a decent grinder. There are plenty of trails easily accessed on foot from the farm. The 4 day break felt so much longer - this is an ideal retreat!
