Bridge Cottage is a converted rural property in Torridge, sleeping two in a single bedroom with a king bed. The ground floor holds an open-plan living and dining space with a woodburner, alongside a kitchen equipped for proper cooking. Upstairs, the bathroom has a bath with shower. Essentials—electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi—come as standard, and there is parking for two cars on site.
The cottage sits within grounds that include an indoor heated swimming pool (open April to September, 10:00–18:00), shared with other properties. One small to medium dog is welcome and stays free of charge. A barbecue and garden furniture are available, though note there is an unfenced pond in the grounds. The village of Sheepwash lies roughly a mile away in any direction, as do two pubs: the Half Moon at Sheepwash and the Black River Inn in Black Torrington. From here, the North Devon coast is accessible for days out, and Dartmoor lies within reach for walks and exploration.

I had a wonderful stay at Brook Cottage. The sheets were spotless and fresh, making the room feel instantly welcoming. The facilities were excellent — everything I needed was right at hand and in perfect working order. Most importantly, the host were warm, friendly, and genuinely made me feel at home. I’d happily return and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable bed and inviting stay.

What a beautiful setting for our stay! Our lodge was perfect, had everything we needed and a far tasteful interior than any other lodge I’ve stayed in… my husband was very pleased to have a nespresso machine! Great touch with the log burner, not that we needed it…. The lodge is set in Immaculately kept grounds in beautiful Devon and with a fabulous pool to boot! Amanda and Anthony were great hosts! Loved it here. Bridge farm…. We will be back!

We recently enjoyed a break staying in Brook Cottage, beautifully furnished and has everything you need , the bed was exceptionally comfortable. It’s set in the most beautiful and peaceful surroundings. The hosts are very welcoming and accommodating. If you love nature and history you have it all here. In a 3 mile radius, 2 very historic villages well worth reading up on, as Black Torrington has a mention in the Domesday Book. Nature reserves a short drive, Bude beach and of course Dartmoor. We loved it and shall be back.
