Rural Torridge offers easy access to North Devon's coast and moorland, and Bridge Farm Country Stays is positioned squarely in that landscape. Brook Cottage is one of several properties on the working farm, a recently renovated single-bedroom base sleeping two. Ground floor holds an open-plan living and dining area with a woodburner, a kitchen equipped for cooking, and a separate bathroom with bath and shower. Upstairs is a kingsize bedroom. You have your own front garden with a barbecue and seating.
The farm grounds are shared with other guests but include a heated indoor swimming pool (20m by 10m, open 10:00–18:00) and a large wildlife pond where owls, bats, cuckoos and buzzards are regularly seen. Parking for two cars is on site. Wifi, electricity, bed linen and towels come as standard. A mile away in each direction lie two pubs—the Half Moon at Sheepwash and the Black River Inn in Black Torrington—so you're never far from a meal or a drink. Summerleaze Beach at Bude is within easy reach, as are Woolacombe, Braunton and the higher cliffs around Hartland. No smoking.

I had a wonderful stay at Brook Cottage. The sheets were spotless and fresh, making the room feel instantly welcoming. The facilities were excellent — everything I needed was right at hand and in perfect working order. Most importantly, the host were warm, friendly, and genuinely made me feel at home. I’d happily return and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable bed and inviting stay.

What a beautiful setting for our stay! Our lodge was perfect, had everything we needed and a far tasteful interior than any other lodge I’ve stayed in… my husband was very pleased to have a nespresso machine! Great touch with the log burner, not that we needed it…. The lodge is set in Immaculately kept grounds in beautiful Devon and with a fabulous pool to boot! Amanda and Anthony were great hosts! Loved it here. Bridge farm…. We will be back!

We recently enjoyed a break staying in Brook Cottage, beautifully furnished and has everything you need , the bed was exceptionally comfortable. It’s set in the most beautiful and peaceful surroundings. The hosts are very welcoming and accommodating. If you love nature and history you have it all here. In a 3 mile radius, 2 very historic villages well worth reading up on, as Black Torrington has a mention in the Domesday Book. Nature reserves a short drive, Bude beach and of course Dartmoor. We loved it and shall be back.
