Great experience, stayed over for a night, bed and pillows comfy, was very warm like most hotel rooms, but at least had a fan in the room. Reserved table in restaurant, food was great, same for breakfast the next morning too and service was excellent, only issue was how warm the restaurant was, but considering age of building, its to be expected. Bar had a good choice of local beers, staff also excellent with good knowledge of the history of the building. Big sized free car park and great location just off the main A road. Would definitely come back here again.

We stopped by for lunch. Delicious food, polite staff, excellent value for money. The only drawback was that the tables are crammed in. I understand that they need to make money, but it would be better for the customers to have a bit more space. The family next to us were so close I could hear one of them chewing. The gift shop was well stocked, with a wide range of items.

Exceptional Service at Jamaica Inn! We booked a table for 2 on 4th July 2026 at 6pm. The pub restaurant was quite quiet when we arrived, and the waitress swiftly led us to our table. She was incredibly friendly and professional, and because it was a quiet evening, our food arrived very quickly. She even checked in on us shortly after in a very pleasant manner. I had ordered a medium rump steak, which unfortunately turned out a bit overcooked and dry. I initially decided not to mention it to the waitress, but a bit later, the lady manager started doing her rounds to check on customers at each table. When she came to ours, I decided to let her know about the steak. She immediately apologized and offered a fresh replacement straight away. She was incredibly polite, attentive, and truly went the extra mile to ensure we left happy, even checking back a bit later to make sure the new steak was cooked perfectly. I don't normally write reviews, but for exceptional customer service like this, it absolutely deserves a mention. Thank you to the team for turning a minor food issue into a wonderful dining experience!

Nice inn with a lot of history, enjoyed the museum. Unfortunately our food experience was not great. Firstly, found it strange that there is no drinks menu, are we supposed to guess what is available? Eventually someone came to take our drinks order, by which point we knew what food we wanted so ordered that as well. The starters came out really quickly... So quickly that we didn't even have our drinks yet 🤦‍♂️. My Fiancée had the salmon patè (Gluten free). The pate was fairly basic and the bread quite burnt. I ordered the squid, which was alright, but very tiny portion. We then had to wait at least 30 mins for our main! My Fiancée had the GF fish and chips, again was pretty basic and also was a bit cold. I had the special which was lamb chops, they were actually quite nice, although quite a small portion of mash with it hidden under a giant pile of kale. We then ordered dessert, again had a mega long wait, the waitress actually had to ask where it was for us. Fiancée had sorbet, which was standard and fairly refreshing. I had Banana split. Was quite nice although slightly overpriced for the size. Waitress did take a little off our final bill for the wait on pudding at least which was a slight saving grace.

People say this inn offers delicious, hearty food, including excellent steak and ale pie and Sunday roasts, with many gluten-free options. They also highlight the friendly, helpful staff, the historic atmosphere, and the interesting on-site museum and gift shop.

Some reviews mention the service can be slow.
