Woodpeckers

Woodpeckers is a single-storey cottage in Cowbeech near Hailsham, entirely on one level and accessible via two steps to the entrance. The living space combines kitchen and sitting room with a 32" smart TV and woodburner, opening into a dining room where large windows overlook the garden—and the alpacas grazing in the neighbouring farmland beyond. Two bedrooms sleep four: one with a double bed, the other with two singles. The bathroom has a bath with shower over and a heated towel rail. Everything needed for a self-catering stay is provided, including electricity, bed linen and towels.

The enclosed garden has a patio area with furniture for outdoor meals on warmer evenings. There is parking for two cars on site, and one dog stays free. A pub and restaurant are within a mile; a farm shop is 2 miles away. For wider exploration, Hailsham is a short drive, while Battle (with its 1066 heritage) takes about 20 minutes. Direct trains to London run from Polegate and Battle stations nearby. Eastbourne and Pevensey Bay are roughly 15 and 10 miles respectively. A small fishing lake lies approximately 700 yards away. No smoking is permitted.
