Foxglove Rest

Westmorland and Furness

View on Google Maps

Grasmere itself is the draw here. Foxglove Rest sits in the heart of the village, where cafés, shops and restaurants line the streets and the Lake District's most famous walking routes begin almost on the doorstep. The position means you can step outside after breakfast and be on the fells within minutes, or spend an afternoon browsing the village before returning to your own space as evening falls. Helm Crag rises visibly from the property, a constant reminder of the landscape beyond.

The house spreads across two floors with four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, which keeps a larger group moving smoothly through mornings and evenings. Downstairs, an open-plan living and kitchen area is built for groups: big windows overlook the fell, there's comfortable seating around a stove-effect fire, and the kitchen has an island where people naturally gather. Parking is arranged via a nearby permit, and wifi runs throughout. Bed linen and towels are provided, along with electricity. The property is non-smoking.

This works well for friends or extended families who want a genuine village base rather than isolation—somewhere to cook together between days out, to sit by the fire and talk, and to wake each morning to mountain views.
