The Outdoor Adventure Company sits within easy reach, and from Holmescales Lodges you're positioned to explore the Gateway to the Lakes without the crowds of the busier resort towns. Kendal itself has shops, cafes and pubs, while the Lake District National Park opens up for walking, cycling or a drive through the fells. The farm setting means genuine countryside around you—rolling hills, open skies, space to breathe.

Tyan is a two-bedroom lodge sleeping four. Downstairs you get a combined living and dining space with a Smart TV, a kitchen equipped for proper cooking (electric oven, hob, dishwasher), and a shower room. Upstairs, a galleried mezzanine bedroom sits tucked under the eaves. Both bedrooms have double beds. The whole place is yours alone. Outside, a private hot tub for four overlooks the garden, with decking and seating areas to settle into. Parking for two cars is on site. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are all included; pets stay free. The lodge does have steps at the garden entrance and within the grounds, and smoking is not permitted.

My partner and I stayed here for the weekend and ended up loving it even more than we expected. The campsite is small, which we actually liked—but it’s worth noting that if it were fully booked, the hard-standing pitches might feel a little close together. The facilities are basic, but that’s clearly stated as it’s a wild-style campsite, so we knew what to expect and were perfectly happy with that. As self-contained motorhome owners, we found it very comfortable and suited our needs well. There are some lovely local walks, including routes up to The Helm overlooking Kendal, which we really enjoyed—and our dogs absolutely loved it too. The two luxury cabins on the hill also looked fantastic, and we’d definitely consider staying in one of those in the future. Overall, we think this is a great site for motorhomes, caravans, and campervans. We’d happily recommend it, would return ourselves, and agree it’s a brilliant stopover spot just a short drive from the M6. Also some beautiful views

Absolutely brilliant place. Great facilities, fantastic views and very convenient for visiting the local area. The staff are very attentive and the other guests were very friendly… I know that Holmescales can’t guarantee the latter, but it did add to a great experience/visit! Thank you 🙏🏼
