Yan is a two-bedroom lodge on a working farm near Kendal, sleeping four. The mezzanine bedroom upstairs is reached by ladder staircase; downstairs, a second double sits in a partitioned section of the open-plan living space. There's one shower room between them. Essentials including Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are provided, and the heating is electric central.
The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher for cooking from base. The living area centres on a Smart TV and sofa facing French doors that open onto a patio with a private hot tub for four. One car can park on site. The farm allows dogs at no extra charge, though they do ask for no smoking inside. You can access The Outdoor Adventure Company activity centre from here.

My partner and I stayed here for the weekend and ended up loving it even more than we expected. The campsite is small, which we actually liked—but it’s worth noting that if it were fully booked, the hard-standing pitches might feel a little close together. The facilities are basic, but that’s clearly stated as it’s a wild-style campsite, so we knew what to expect and were perfectly happy with that. As self-contained motorhome owners, we found it very comfortable and suited our needs well. There are some lovely local walks, including routes up to The Helm overlooking Kendal, which we really enjoyed—and our dogs absolutely loved it too. The two luxury cabins on the hill also looked fantastic, and we’d definitely consider staying in one of those in the future. Overall, we think this is a great site for motorhomes, caravans, and campervans. We’d happily recommend it, would return ourselves, and agree it’s a brilliant stopover spot just a short drive from the M6. Also some beautiful views

Great little campsite with a view to die for .clean toilets ,showers and potwash area .would highly recommend.

Fantastic motorhome/caravan pitch. Liked it. Only 2 shower room but it’s neat and clean. Good toilet, good privacy for family. Fantastic location must try guys.

Absolutely brilliant place. Great facilities, fantastic views and very convenient for visiting the local area. The staff are very attentive and the other guests were very friendly… I know that Holmescales can’t guarantee the latter, but it did add to a great experience/visit! Thank you 🙏🏼
