Ivy House

Westmorland and Furness

View on Google Maps

Ivy House is a renovated four-bedroom cottage sleeping eight, with everything needed for a self-catering stay already in place. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are included. Each bedroom is a double with its own en-suite bathroom—one has a copper bath, the others are fitted with showers—and there's a fifth bathroom with both bath and walk-in shower. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, opening through bi-fold doors onto the garden where a hot tub seats five and outdoor furniture is laid out. Two separate living spaces mean different groups can spread out: the main room has a smart TV, and a second sitting room offers more space for relaxation or children to occupy themselves.

The cottage sits on the fellside near Cheery Nook, adjacent to the Cumbrian Way, with views across the valley towards Ullswater. On-site parking accommodates four cars, and there's a bike store for exploring by cycle. One small dog is welcome, though must be kept on a lead given the sheep farming in the area. The nearby village of Dockray has a pub, and walking starts from the garden gate itself, whether up onto the fells or along established routes. No smoking is permitted inside.
