Kirkstone Shepherd’s hut
Westmorland and Furness
Ambleside's independent shops, pubs and restaurants lie within a mile, and Waterhead Pier—where ferries depart for Bowness, Lakeside and Wray Castle—is close by. The lake itself is accessible for boat hire, while the surrounding fells draw climbers, abseilers and walkers year-round. For quieter moments, the hut sits among hills whose changing light fills the windows throughout the day.
Kirkstone Shepherd's Hut is a detached, one-bedroom space on a single level, sleeping two in a double bed. The open-plan interior combines living and dining areas with a kitchen fitted for straightforward cooking: electric hob, microwave and fridge. An en-suite shower room and electric heating (plus a wood-effect fire for extra warmth) complete the setup. Wi-Fi is available, alongside bed linen and towels. There is no television. The grounds include garden furniture, though these are shared with other properties on the site; parking for one car is provided on site.
No smoking is permitted inside. The hut has steps both at the entrance and throughout the grounds.
