The Nest
Westmorland and Furness
The Nest is a converted carriage house on a working farm high above Ambleside, with everything needed for a self-contained stay. The single open-plan room combines living, dining and kitchen areas, served by an electric cooker, fridge and washing machine. A double bedroom and shower room complete the layout. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are all included, along with parking for two cars.
The location sits on elevated farmland in Stockghyll Valley, surrounded by fell and open countryside where buzzards circle overhead and rare-breed livestock graze. A pub lies within a mile. The property suits walkers, cyclists and anyone seeking quiet, though the water comes from a natural spring and access is via a rough track. The setting offers clear night skies and views across the Lake District in multiple directions.
No smoking is permitted. The Nest can be booked alongside three neighbouring cottages for larger groups.
