Lake Windermere stretches out from the windows of Mere View, with the fells beyond—Loughrigg, the Langdale Pikes, Coniston Old Man—visible from the living room's bay window. The apartment stands on the lake shore itself, converted from a Victorian hotel, with Ambleside Pier a few steps away where steamers depart across the water. A mile brings you into Ambleside town centre, where shops, cafes and restaurants line the streets, and walking routes branch out towards Wansfell and other peaks.

The property sleeps four across two en-suite bedrooms: one with a double bed, one with zip-and-link singles that convert to a double. A third bathroom contains a Jacuzzi bath. The open-plan living and dining space has a television and DVD player; the kitchen is equipped for proper cooking, with an electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher and full-size fridge and freezer. Wifi, bed linen, towels and heating are all included. There is parking for one car on site, and a washing machine and tumble dryer in a shared utility room. One well-behaved pet is welcome. Note that there is an unfenced lake edge 25 yards from the building, and the property does not permit smoking.
