Lake Lodge and the surrounding fells are within reach, making this part of Westmorland and Furness ideal for walking or driving days out. North Dean itself is a detached house on an elevated plot with lake views from the main rooms and bedrooms. It sleeps 10 across five bedrooms—a double, a kingsize, two zip-and-link singles, and a bunk room—with three bathrooms between them. The ground floor holds a utility room and games room with pool table and table football; upstairs, a living room with a 60-inch smart TV, woodburner and balcony, plus a separate dining room and kitchen equipped for cooking from scratch.

The real draw is the indoor heated swimming pool, eight metres by 4.8 metres and kept between 24 and 26 degrees, with changing facilities and poolside seating. A six-person hot tub sits near a covered outdoor seating area. The garden is landscaped with lawned sections, a patio and furniture for outdoor sitting. You get the whole house to yourselves, parking for five cars, and the essentials—heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi—included. No smoking is permitted. It works for large family groups or friends gathering together; hen and stag parties are not taken.
