Running Hare

Windermere village sits within easy reach of the Lake District's fell views and waterside walks. Running Hare is a traditional stone cottage positioned just minutes on foot from the village centre, with parkland and surrounding fells visible from the property. The whole place is yours alone, with parking for one car to the rear and an enclosed garden with patio where you can settle on summer evenings.

Inside, the layout spreads across three floors. Ground level holds a living room with woodburner, smart TV and French doors onto the garden, plus a well-equipped kitchen with range cooker, dishwasher and air fryer for cooking. Upstairs, the first-floor twin bedroom can be configured as a super kingsize on request, served by a bathroom with bath and shower. The top-floor double has an ensuite with large shower cubicle and beamed ceilings. Two bathrooms means no queue for the shower. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included; logs for the woodburner are available locally. The utility room is handy for boots and muddy paws if you bring a dog—one pet is welcome, and doggy extras are provided.

The cottage suits families or groups wanting base to explore the Lakes without leaving the village behind. Three steps lead to the entrance, and there are two steps within the garden. No smoking inside.
