Stables Grasmere

Grasmere sits deep in the Lake District, ringed by fell and moorland that rises directly from the village. Stables Grasmere occupies a converted stone building here, with parking on site and an enclosed courtyard garden where you can sit out in the evenings. The village itself—a short walk away—has tea shops, restaurants and pubs within minutes, as well as the shops and facilities you'd expect of a working Lakeland community.

Inside, there are two bedrooms (a king and a double) and a bathroom with shower on the upper floor, while the ground floor holds a living and dining room with a Freeview TV and an electric woodburner, plus a kitchen equipped to cook proper meals. Bed linen, towels, electricity and Wi-Fi are all included. The property is yours alone; you'll have a whole cottage rather than shared access. One dog is welcome.

Walking starts at the gate—the Rothay valley and surrounding fells offer routes from gentle riverside strolls to fell-top hikes. The cottage is set back from the main village activity, but close enough that you can reach a meal or a pint in moments. Windermere lake and its cruises lie about 30 miles away. The place does not permit smoking.
