The Dove Cot Cottages

In the central Lake District, where walking trails start from your door and villages like Ambleside are within reach, The Dove Cot Cottages consist of two standalone properties positioned opposite each other. One sleeps two in a traditional cottage; the other, a modern annexe, also sleeps two. Together they accommodate four people per building, each with its own entrance, kitchen and bathrooms, making them suited to two couples or groups of friends who want to holiday in the same place without sharing a roof.

The main cottage has a living room with a smart TV, a kitchen equipped for cooking, and two king-size bedrooms served by a shower room and a separate bathroom with bath and shower. The annexe mirrors this layout with its own sitting area, kitchen, two king-size beds and bathroom featuring a heated towel rail. Both properties are on the ground floor. Electricity, bed linen and towels are supplied; one well-behaved pet stays free of charge. There is an unfenced river in the grounds, and smoking is not permitted.

The gravelled parking area accommodates several cars. Countryside walks begin straight from the properties. The location puts you within easy reach of the Langdale valleys and works well as a base for exploring the fells, or for groups simply wanting quiet time in one spot with room to spread out.
