The Dove Cot is a single-storey property at Clappersgate, positioned where the road between Ambleside and Skelwith Bridge opens into the Langdale Valley. A king-size bed, living and dining space, and a bathroom with a Jacuzzi bath make up the layout. Everything is on the ground floor, with French doors from the main room leading to a decked terrace and lawned garden beyond. One car can park on site. Your dog is welcome to come with you.
The kitchen has an electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge-freezer, so you can cook properly rather than just heat things up. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are included. An external utility room contains a washing machine, tumble dryer and storage space—the latter useful if you're bringing kayaking or cycling kit. The enclosed garden offers river views and a quiet spot away from the road.
Clappersgate sits at the foot of some of the National Park's best-known walking country. The property does not accommodate children or babies. Arrive after 15:00 and depart by 10:00.
