The Garth

Step into The Garth and you're immediately on the ground floor where a spacious living room with a smart TV opens into a kitchen-dining space equipped for proper cooking. The master bedroom sits here too—a super king with its own bathroom, making it accessible for anyone with mobility considerations. Two further bathrooms serve the rest of the house, so mornings don't become a logistical puzzle. Upstairs, three more bedrooms sleep the remaining guests: one with a king bed and ensuite, and two rooms with pairs of single beds. Wifi, heating, bed linen and towels come as standard. One dog stays free.

The barn stands on a working farm between Keswick and Penrith, surrounded by meadows where sheep, lambs, alpacas and donkeys graze. An enclosed garden with furniture provides outdoor space. You can park three cars on site and store bikes. The shared games room next door has a pool table, table football and table tennis if the weather turns. Walking starts from the doorstep—local fells and Blencathra are on your doorstep, and Derwentwater, Borrowdale, Ullswater and Thirlmere are all within easy reach. Keswick is seven and a half miles away for shops and restaurants; a pub and shop are two miles closer. Fishing is available nearby.
