Walking distance from The Mill opens onto some of the Lake District's best ridge routes. The River Glenderamackin's waterfalls lead uphill past Bannerdale Crags toward Sharp Edge and Blencathra's summit; easier options include Swinside Valley and Bowscale Tarn. The village pub, the Mill Inn, sits within a mile. For a quieter day, the grounds have a sitting-out area, and a lawned garden with furniture for your own use.
This former corn mill, built in the 15th century and later used for timber milling, has been converted into a comfortable four-bedroom cottage that sleeps four. Ground-floor living means a living and dining room with woodburner, a kitchen with electric cooker and full facilities, two bedrooms (one double, one with two singles), and a bathroom with bath and shower. Electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included; logs for the burner are also provided. A cot and highchair are available if needed, and parking for two cars is on site.
The cottage sits in Mungrisdale, a quiet village in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The river runs alongside the grounds but is unfenced. No smoking is permitted inside.
