Wansfell Cottage

Wansfell Cottage sits on Ambleside's main street, with pubs, cafés and independent shops within a few minutes on foot. The Lake District's fell walks begin at the town edges; Ambleside itself has a pitch-and-putt course, indoor climbing wall, and easy access to the lakes and mountains that draw people here. Parking is by permit, with spaces available nearby.

The cottage has three bedrooms—one kingsize on the first floor, one kingsize on the second, and two singles on the top floor—and two bathrooms with shower facilities. Downstairs, the living room centres on a wood-burning stove, with a separate dining room and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking: range cooker, dishwasher and all the basics. The interior blends contemporary finishes with original features like local slate flooring. Essentials including heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are covered; logs for the stove can be bought locally. There is a small rear yard and bench seating to the front. The cottage does not permit smoking.

A travel cot and highchair are available if needed. The property sleeps six.
