About Meadow Field
Looking to explore the gorgeous city of York from a peaceful rural base? Meadow Field sits on a farm just off the A19, half a mile south of Shipton by Beningbrough – meaning a ten-minute stroll to the village's historic pub, known for real ales and home-cooked Sunday lunches. York itself is only fifteen minutes' drive, and you won't need to wrestle with city-centre parking: the Park and Ride is five minutes down the road.
The site offers grass pitches (electric and non-electric), a modern toilet block with hot shower, and a sheltered washing-up area. There's plenty of space for children to let off steam, and families keen on wildlife will appreciate the nearby Yorkshire Wildlife Trust Moorlands reserve – complete with rhododendrons, wooden sculptures and bat-watching walks – or Askham Bog, where kestrels and red kites sometimes put in an appearance. Note that dogs aren't permitted, so plan accordingly if you're travelling with pets.

Very flat grass pitches, plenty of room for awnings. Toilets ,showers a little basic but ample. Plenty of water sources. Elson, and waste bins. Easy 10mins walk to local pubs serving food. Tv reception very good, internet very good. Easy to go into York. Ideal spot, suited our needs perfectly, especially through the windy Storm.

Phoned on the off chance we could have an electric pitch for the night and arrived 90 minutes later to a friendly welcome. Quiet site, had a good night's sleep. Large flat field; it's basic but clean and tidy and has everything you need, including waste disposal point, toilet, washing up area, electric hook up and a hot shower. Would definitely use again.
