The Hayloft occupies a converted 18th-century farm building at Hopgrove Farm Cottages, where a cluster of spacious properties surrounds a landscaped courtyard. A private drive leads through open fields to reach the place, creating genuine countryside calm while sitting just two miles from York's centre. The whole property is yours alone, with parking for two cars on site.
Downstairs holds a living room with Freeview television and DVD player, a kitchen with electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher and full-sized fridge, and a bedroom with king bed alongside a shower room. Upstairs, a second king bedroom and a third room with two single beds share a bathroom with bath and shower. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included. A shared utility room has a washing machine and tumble dryer for longer stays.
Beyond the cottage itself, guests can use a hot tub, a games room with pool table and air hockey, and a large garden with patio and barbecue—all shared with other properties on the farm. York itself offers the Minster, city walls, museums including the National Railway Museum and Castle Museum, and streets filled with independent shops, cafes and restaurants. Within two miles lie Waterworld swimming pool, golf courses, theatres and a sports centre. The property is non-smoking throughout.

Perfectly charming place with everything you need to make your stay comfortable. Close enough to pop in yo the city and experience all that York has to offer, and quiet enough for a decent night's sleep. Would recommend :)

Love this place, this was our second visit and it was just as lovely as the first. I love how they decorate the place for Christmas. It has everything you need and is a short trip into York. Great carvery across the road as well.

We stayed in Big Barn, a lovely 'home from home' cosy and comfortable cottage with everything we needed, in a pleasantly arranged, and peaceful, location, but only a couple of miles from York. We also really enjoyed the hot tub! Very relaxing after our daily outings. The owner was very helpful and friendly, and on hand if needed, but left us to enjoy our holiday in peace. We would happily stay here again. There's a Park and Ride to York (Monks Cross) only a couple of minutes away by car, as were the supermarkets. Also a Toby Carvery 5 minutes walk from the cottage. All very handy, but you feel as though you're tucked away from all the hustle and bustle in this peaceful and very pleasant location.
